My name is Daphne. Just Daphne. Not Daph.
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut and at the age of 7 I was uprooted and plopped into the sunshine state of Arizona. Every time I say I live in Arizona someone says, “But it’s a dry heat, right?”. Yes, sir. It is a “dry” heat but you will still pass out standing outside in 120 degree “dry” heat. Arizona can be summed up by saying it is brown and hot with a lot of cactus scattered around.
I’ve been the typical Arizonian teenager complaining about the killer heat and saying, “There is absolutely NOTHING to do here on a Saturday night”. Although I still agree whole heartily with those statements, I feel that I have more hindsight on the situation. Arizona has been my holding place until I felt that I could go forth into the world and unleash my rathe. Now that time is quickly approaching with my departure to Buffalo, NY lurking in the distance. I will be moving into a dorm with a complete stranger and embarking on the broke life of a college student on August 15th. I get anxiety when I can’t find a clean pair of jeans, so you can only imagine how I am feeling about moving.
Now, I asked around for how one would describe me. These are some of the answers I got:
-lover of the arts
-Motherly without knowing it
-Talkative
-Guarded
-pain in the ass (but worth it….sometimes)
-Loving and caring to a fault
-Go-getter
Now, you know I really asked people because I put the bad ones I don’t even want to admit.
Until next time,
Daphne.
