Music

Music has been a huge support system in my life, sometimes the only support.  I’ve come to learn the exponential  amount of positive effect it has on the world. The beauty is in how it holds no shape or color. Music simply lives within a person, in their heart, and in their soul.

So, I thought it would be sweet if I shared some of my favorite tunes since a lot of my writing is influenced by what music I’m listening to.

First Defeat by Noah Gunderson

– THIS SONG. Number One: He is a true talent with his songwriting. Number Two: This song is something that I think most people can relate to in different ways which is why I love it so much.

Sun by Sleeping At Last

– I hate to admit it but I found this song through my sister, which is pretty embarrassing but it has since then become a quick favorite. If it sounds slightly familiar, it can be found on the popular teen tear jerker, The Fault In Our Stars. Sadly this incredible song was masked by the publicly of the Ed Sheeran song that was made specially for the movie.

Youth Is Wasted On The Young by Augustana

-Let me first say that I had the honor to see this band a couple years ago and they were  amazing  magical. They have produced big hits like “Sweet and Low” and “Boston” but really haven’t been in the spotlight since then. This record is spotlight worthy. It really stays with their roots of beautiful melodies and always delivering thoughtful lyrics.
